Working on the Isekai again.
Now that the ramen site is live I have more time to write.
I've reworked the outline and fixed some plot holes that I couldn't figure out the first time around. It always helps to step away from something for a while and come back to it to see what was wrong.
After watching some other show to get more ideas I realized quite a lot of anime has a "child prodigy" character thrown in once in a while. This kid is the best at some thing and is either 1.) flippant about it or 2.) infinitely self-righteous. The kid is typically a 5-12 year old boy, with blonde or lighter hair than everyone else and a chili bowl cut.
I can't stand this kind of character.
In other news, I have added a new adversarial member to the party.
I hope you all hate him as much as I do.
The rest of the characters and early plot have gone unchanged save for what kind of creature the MC is. In the first draft she was a stereotypical green orc with black hair and that was just a bit too simple. The reader is going to expect her to be treated as the big green monster or societal outcast for not being a human. Rather than make her more human (relatable) I'm making her more of a monster (omg why would she do that, oh right).
She now has blue skin, horns, white hair (almost everywhere), and when she goes into barbarian fury/rage her skin turns red. Welcome to the half-yeti. At this point the orc has long been accepted into proper society along with the cat and lizard people. Now there is a literal monster hybrid running around the mountains in a troll-leather battle harness and cave bear boots. How does a half yeti even happen? A total Mrs. Caliban situation? Elisa Esposito? Femshep? Who knows, but I'm rolling with it for now.
I'm drawing her out soon. Maybe if I make the cover and some chapter cover art it will kick start me into cleaning up the ending.
